Beyonce!

Recently i adopted a stray from Puerto Rico and named her Beyonce. It's been awesome. She eats all the flies in my apartment and loves to lick faces (she seems fascinated with mouths). a couple weeks after i got Beyonce it truly sank in that she would be mine forever, even when friends that seem eternal drift in and out she would still be there. it was a new and fantastic realization. (also that night i had a fucked up dream where these two guys from the dog park shot us in my parents garage. seriously wtf, some kind of distorted maternal instinct.)

today i took her to a quarry where she was terrified to swim, last time i tried to make her she ran into the woods and we all had to yell "Beyonce!" for about 10 minutes.

i'm nesting; it leaves me feeling oddly warm inside, like i'm in the garage with the car running and i've breathed enough carbon that i could fall asleep but part of me is yelling that i should open the garage door. ever since i've been falling asleep most of what i've made are things to make my home feel more like my home. last month i started this project, it's above the fireplace in my bedroom.

i saw these instillation pieces by Paul Villinski so i can't really take credit for the idea, but i'm pretty pleased with my newly honed x-acto knife skills!
